Unfettered

Unfettered, the celebrated sculpture by Albin Polasek, stands proudly in the gardens of the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens. I have painted her many times from different angles, but on this day, the drama of the clouds drew me to this particular view. Their shifting light and shadow carved the edges of the surrounding trees into striking silhouettes, while Unfettered herself rose in quiet strength against the turbulent sky. It was a scene of pure drama — sculpture and nature in perfect, passionate dialogue.
