Bathed in the honeyed glow of late afternoon, the canvas captures a solitary figure—his form composed of swift, fluid strokes—pedaling a bicycle along a narrow, timeworn road. The man’s silhouette is loose yet unmistakable: shoulders hunched slightly forward, one foot poised mid‑stroke on the crank, coat tails fluttering in a gentle breeze.

To his right, a row of squat, broken-down buildings—still thriving fish houses—rises directly from the street’s edge. Their peeling siding is rendered in dabs of muted umber and rose, softened at the corners so that the structures almost melt into the dusty roadway.

Above it all, the sun sits low in the sky, its warm beam stretching across the scene in narrow columns of gold. Shadows—elongated and soft-edged—trail behind the cyclist and slip beneath the boats and buildings in tones of lavender and deep red violet.

He’s since continued his studies through workshops with many masters of art.
