Painted in the historic heart of Old Eau Gallie, this piece captures the quiet beauty of a hand-dug canal along the Banana River. Originally built to protect the University of Florida’s crewing boats, the canal stretches narrow and serene beneath the warm late-day light. Palm trees and pines reflect in its mirrored surface, their shapes gently distorted by soft ripples threading through the water—ripples stirred by an approaching great white egret gliding low across the canal.

With wings outstretched, the egret flies in gracefully, intent on fishing for its evening meal.
