Collection: Dominic Avant

Dominic Avant is a nationally-acclaimed fine artist. For the past 17 years, Dominic has worked as a full-time professor and fine art painter at Ringling College of Art and Design. His style is a fusion of impressionism and realism. He feels painting from life, in general, is the heart and soul of his work. He aims to achieve the same emotional response on a canvas that initially drove him to that particular subject. His strong sense of light, vivid color, and fluid brushwork directly result from his many hours of working through direct observation.  

His accolades include winning numerous awards through national and international organizations like the prestigious Art Renewal Center, the Portrait Society of America, and Oil Painters of America. His works have been published in numerous publications nationally and internationally, including the Artist’s Magazine, The International Artist, American Art Collector, The Artist & Illustrator, and more.

His recent works are in the permanent collection at Disney’s Grand California Hotel Lounge and on the album cover of Grammy-winning jazz artist Samara Joy.
